About Creating Transmittals
In order to create ALL Transmittal Types Project Members require the permission/folder access to Write to the Transmittals section and/or subfolder(s).
Create a Transmittal
For all non-standard transmittal types please refer to the appropriate article listed below for that Transmittal Type for creating the Transmittal.
- Commitment Transmittals
- Cost Event Transmittals (Contract Events and Commitment Events)
- For Approval Submittals Transmittals
- Return from Review Submittal Transmittals (please note, Return Transmittals done via Quick Reply or Quick Return are not available for customization during the return process at this time, they are generated and sent on behalf of the reviewer to all listed parties of the original For Approval Submittal Transmittal)

Standard Transmittal
1. Navigate to the Transmittals section and/or Transmittals subfolder where the Transmittal being deleted is located.
2. In the top ribbon, select the New Transmittal button
3. Enter the required fields: From and the To and Description
4. Select Save (Save & New will take the user immediately into the next issue item. Save & Copy will take the user immediately to the next new issue item, but containing a copy of all of the details entered in the current issue being created)
Fill Out Transmittal Information
Once a Transmittal is created, it can be updated and saved as many times as needed before being sent via email. Below is a breakdown of each section of the Transmittal.
General Information
From - A required field. Project Member that the Transmittal is FROM.
To - A required field. Project Member that the Transmittal is TO.
Shipment Tracking Number - An option field for inputting a shipment tracking number if applicable for the Transmittal.
Sent via - Defaults to Electronically, has other available options.
Description - A required field. The Description of the Transmittal. This is populated for all non-standard transmittal types, but can be modified.
REF - An optional text field that can be used for any additional Reference details.
Item Type Transmitted - An optional dropdown to select the type of items that are being transmitted. This is automatically populated for all non-standard transmittal types, but can be modified.
Remarks - A textbox that any remarks regarding the Transmittal can be captured. Formatting options are available for use.
Items Being Sent Grid
The items being sent grid is available to be used to itemize any of the items being sent. This is a use-case function and may not be necessary for all users. For all non-standard transmittal types, the Transmittals Attachments section will be used to show the originating item(s), therefore do not need to be listed here.
1. Enter the details of the itemization.
2. Select the green checkbox to the right to add the item to the grid.
3. Repeat as needed until list is complete.
CC Users Grid
Assign any CC's by scrolling down and selecting the blue plus icon to the right of the CC's grid. This opens The User Selection Tool.
Reminder: Being a CC to a project management item makes the Project Member a "collaborator" of that item. Collaboration allows for the Project Member to upload attachments, participate in discussions, and add CC users (where applicable), and receive all email notifications regarding the punch list item. Attachments Grids
Transmittal Attachments Grid
Cannot be edited. This is the location for all originating items to be listed for all non-standard transmittal types.
Referenced Folders & Referenced Documents Grids
Existing document module folders and/or files can be "referenced" by using The Document Reference Tool.
Attached Documents Grid
Include Transmittal Specific file attachments by dragging and dropping into the box or using Browse File(s) and selecting Upload File(s).
Transmit a Transmittal
1. Navigate inside the Transmittal that will be transmitted and make sure it's ready to send!
2. Select the Transmit button in the top ribbon
3. The email send of the Transmittal will be initiated to the listed To and all assigned CC's.
