About Custom Project Templates
Organizations within a StratusVue Platform website have the ability to create custom project templates in addition to the out-of-the-box Project Templates.
Organization Users with the Site Level Permission to "Create Projects" will be able to create the custom template project, however an Organization Admin will be required to create the Custom Template's Project Type List Item and set the project as an organization template project.
Creating the Custom Template Project
1. Creating a Custom Project Template is the same as Creating a New Organization Project. It is recommended that even when creating a custom template, that an out-of-the-box Project Template be used to create the project. This ensures that the minimum required project defaults and folders are included into the project template that is being created.
2. Assign the Project Template a Project Name, Project Number, and Project Zip. (These are the minimum required fields to create a new project, other fields can be populated as needed)
3. Select Save
Once the project is created, the project would be updated to contain the custom template information that will be carried forward into new projects.

Creating the Custom Template's Project Type List Item
In order to complete this, the logged in user must be an Organization Admin. This is to create the item within the drop-down that will be associated to the Project Template that was created above.
1. Navigate to Organization Level List Management
2. Open the Project Type List via the List by type dropdown
3. Select Create Item in the top ribbon
4. Enter the name of the template (this is what will show and be selected in the template dropdown when new projects are created)
5. Select Save
Assigning a Project as an Organization Project Template
Once the project and list item are created, it is time to set the project as an Organization Project Template. In order to complete this, the logged in user must be an Organization Admin.
1. Within the Organization Location & Project Toolbar, locate the project that will be set as a project template within the location it was created
2. Select the checkbox to the left of the project and use the Edit Project button within the Project Toolbar at the top
3. Select the checkbox "use this project as a global template" and assign the list item that was created for this project template.
4. Select Save
Once this is completed, users with "Create Projects" will be able to use this project as their template when creating new projects via the Add New Project button.
